In the middle of the Ausseerland Salzkammergut lies the network of trails with the center Bad Mitterndorf, extending up to Tauplitz and Pichl/Kainisch. Alternatively, there are also trails on the Tauplitzalm. On about 160 kilometers, there is a suitable path for every taste – and every endurance. How about a round around the romantically snow-covered Ödensee? Or a tour to the Kulm with its impressive ski flying ramp? Strap in and hit the trails in the cross-country ski region around Bad Mitterndorf. To explore all the trails here, one should bring along a little time. It doesn't matter whether you prefer a sporty-active or a cozy-relaxed approach: there is plenty of choice here.

An impressive natural backdrop provides the perfect setting. And during the subsequent stop, you can indulge yourself: Traditional cuisine and rustic hut gastronomy directly at the trails ensure your culinary wellbeing, while wellness fans can fully enjoy the nearby Grimming Therme.

Is there a possibility for luggage storage in Bad Mitterndorf?

Luggage storage
There is no luggage storage at the train stations. The info office in Tauplitz and Bad Mitterndorf offers luggage storage during office hours in the information offices for 4.00 euros per piece of luggage.

Lockers on the Tauplitzalm: Practical and Safe
Since the winter season 2024/2025, you have the opportunity to store your personal belongings securely and free of charge on the Tauplitzalm. Right on the mountain at the parking lot, you can conveniently place your bags, backpacks, and other items before heading to the cross-country skiing trails. For the lockers, you will need a 2.00 euro coin as a deposit.
Especially practical: In the day ticket for the cross-country trails, a one-time free ascent and descent with the bus of the Alpine road or with the 4-seater chairlift of the mountain railways Tauplitz is included. Take this opportunity to reach the mountain without stress and at the same time benefit from our new locker service.
With this offer, we aim not only to provide you with more comfort but also to contribute to sustainability by providing you with a practical changing and storage option directly on-site.

Is the ascent via the Tauplitz Alpine road or with the chairlift of the Tauplitz mountain railways included in the cross-country ticket?

The ascent is included only in the day ticket for the cross-country trails with ascent and in the season ticket 2026/27 Plus.
